This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage that definitivemarket.com uses, what each is for and how you can control them. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves in your browser. It lets the site remember things between pages or visits, such as what is in your basket or that you are signed in. "Local storage" works in a similar way but stays in your browser and is not sent to us with each page.
2. The cookies we use
We use cookies to make the shop work and, if you agree, to understand how visitors reach us. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share cookie data for advertising.
Essential cookies. The shop cannot work without these, so they are always on.

Order attribution cookies. These are set only if you choose "Accept all" on the cookie banner. They record how you arrived at the website so we can see which sources bring requests. The information is attached to a quotation request if you send one. It is not used to identify you for advertising.

Staff cookies. Additional cookies are set only for our own administrators when they sign in to manage the website. Customers do not receive them.
3. Other companies' services on the website

We do not currently use Google Analytics, social media plug-ins, advertising pixels or embedded video. If we add any, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
4. How to control cookies
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept all cookies or essential cookies only. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link at the foot of every page.
You can also block or delete cookies and clear local storage in your browser's settings, usually under "Privacy" or "Security", or browse in a private window, which removes cookies when you close it.
If you block essential cookies, you will not be able to keep items in your basket, send a quotation request or sign in. Declining the order attribution cookies does not affect your use of the shop.
5. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy whenever the cookies we use change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
